On April 15, 1945, the Allied 21st army Group, a combined unit of Britain and Canadian soldiers, liberated the concentration camp at Bergen-Belsen. Hitler ad issued an order that all inhabitants of the camps were to be shot before he Allies had an opportunity to see what was being done. However, the order was ignored. When the liberators entered the camp, they were horrified to see piles and piles of corpses, and skeleton-like people wandering about. Minska finally broke down and sobbed. It was the first time she had shed a tear since her imprisonment.
